Duties / Responsibilities:

Implementation and maintenance of new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules and company standards include fire and safety awareness training, site inspections and contractor management at Nulandis manufacturing, warehousing and distribution sites, nationally and internationally.
Offer expert SHEQ related advice to Senior, Line Management and SHEQ committees.
Investigate accidents/incidents, liaise with interested parties and ensure all documentation is updated and preventative/corrective actions are tracked to completion.
Develop a monthly SHEQ communication strategy for all levels of staff to include written info, tool box talks and management briefs.
Responsible for generation of risk assessments all sites, communication of risk assessments to all relevant persons and recommend measures to mitigate risks.
Key person offering SHEQ related advice in Change Management processes and Hazard and Operability Studies (Hazop’s).
Manage, maintain and improve the Quality Environment and Health & Safety Management System to ISO9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 externally audited standards.
Co-ordinate all SHEQ related training nationally and internationally.
Champion the PSM and Green gauge projects.
Ensure valid MSDS’s are distributed and maintained at point of use.
Timeous and accurate submission of all relevant SHEQ related reports to internal stakeholders and external authorities.
Ensure planned job observations schedule is in place maintained and preventative/corrective actions are tracked to completion.
Medicals (assist with arranging annual and follow up medicals).
Be prepared to travel extensively to national and international Nulandis sites.

Qualifications / Experience:

Matric with Maths and Science.
Chemical Engineering Degree or a degree in Health and Safety Management or equivalent technical qualification.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a chemical industry plant environment preferably production related.
Minimum of 3 years SHEQ Management experience.
Experience in implementing and applying OHSAS 18001, ISO14001 and ISO9001.
Excellent knowledge of SHE legislation and best practice.
Excellent investigation capability and report writing skills.
