Large conference & banqueting venue in Cape Town is looking for a SHEQ Office to ensure that it adheres to SHEQ legislation and the maintenance of the ISO process. As well as the following: Compile related reports and implement action plansEnsure adherence to all SHEQ policies, procedures and regulationsConduct all necessary assessments to minimise/eliminate hazardous incidents and instil an all-round culture of safetyManage the SHEQ data baseTrain and mentor staff with assistance from Talent OfficerCustodian of all SHEQ documentationEnsure all incidents logged on EBMS system (Safety Health Environmental & Quality)Responsible for investigating all incidentsDevelop training material and train staff in conjunction with Talent OfficerChair all Safety MeetingsConduct regular internal auditsConstantly conduct Risk Assessments and implement awareness programsRecord, investigate and log all incidentsEnsure open communication and training in conjunction with Talent OfficerAssist with investigation and recommendations of all insurance claims related to SHEQConduct regular site inspections and reports; Safety at events solutions in accordance to the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act 2010Compile an event specific Safety PlanEnsure relevant submissions to the different municipal bodies (event specific)Attend all JOC meetingsA dedicated Health and Safety Officer during build-up, event days and breakdownRequirements: Relevant DegreeSAMTRAC3 Years supervisory experience gained in the Service industryNEBOSCH (International certificate in Occupational Health and Safety)In depth Knowledge of:ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2000 and OHSA 18001 systemsMust have 3 – 5 years’ experience within Environmental Management and Health and Safety Management
