My client, a reputable industry leader in the supply chain trade has an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Officer to join their team

The main purpose of this position:
To ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of the SHE function on site. The SHEQ Officer is responsible for establishing and managing the SHE Management system, conduct regular inspections and audits by identifying, recording and reporting all SHE related issues and implementing corrective actions as required.

Key Performance Areas:

The duties will include but will not be limited to:

• Determining the strategic direction and work priorities (in conjunction with line management) for the continuous improvement of the SHEQ
management programme and systems.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring the adherence to the SHE Management policies and procedures.
• Ensuring site operations comply with legislative and governance requirements of the through the implementation of compliance measures.
• Identifying and addressing risks related to site.
• Ensuring that the site operates in a safe and reliable manner.
• Conducting incident investigations and report findings to the Operations Manager, Site Manager, stakeholders and all other relevant parties.
• Ensuring accurate registration and record keeping of all legislative requirements in conjunction with the company strategy pertaining to the site
i.e. (PPE registers, awareness training registers, all office inspection related registers).
• Monitoring medical certifications and ensuring all employees have valid medical assessments on file.
• Providing general awareness/ induction training on SHE polices, processes and standards to all new employees and existing employees.

Experience:

• Matric
• 3 – 7 years’ administrative experience
• National Diploma in Safety Management
• Risk Assessment Certificate and advantage
• Exp. with QMS (ISO 9001, 1400, 18001)
• Health and Safety Practitioners Certificate
• Knowledge of OHSA, applicable ISO standards
