Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven candidate to take up the role of a SHEQ Program Specialist in Bedfordview, Gauteng.
Purpose
Manage Company Safe Behaviour and Safety Lens programs as well as other risk based Africa Division specific SHEQ interventions, initiatives and campaigns.
To conduct site/branch visits and liaise with management, supervisors and the workforce to emphasize the importance of SHEQ and health and safety as a value in the workplace.
To assist management with the inculcation of a SHEQ focussed 'Quality Excellence' and a 'Home Safe every Day' culture.
To build trust relationships with managers, supervisors and employees and to identify specific challenges and barriers to achieve SHEQ objectives
To provide feedback to site and senior management to ensure appropriate support is given iro the critical barriers to SHEQ excellence
Key Performance Areas
• Implement and manage Company Safe Behaviour program in the Africa Division:
• Liaise with Business Unit management to - establish an annual safe Behaviour roll-out schedule / finalise logistical arrangements for BU specific implementation sessions/ present the approved Safe behaviour training modules / manage the implementation of the on-lines modules / collate data, input, analyse and report on the implementation and success of the program.
• Liaise with Company Counselling Psychologist in respect of the Safe Behaviour program material and content
• Liaise with HR / BET for support where required and provide records, analyses and documentation related to completed sessions
• Implement and manage Company Safety Lens program in the Africa Division:
• Liaise with BU management to evaluate the safety Lens training schedule / monitor and report on the implementation of the approved training schedule
• Liaise with the BU Risk / SHE manager to ensure feedback and improvement plans are placed and implemented / analyse and report on the implementation and success of the program
• Liaise with Company Counselling Psychologist iro enhancements/ changes to the Safety Lens program material and content
• Liaise with HR / BET for support where required and provide records, analyses and documentation related to completed sessions
• Conduct visits to sites/branches:
• Liaise with BU Risk/SHE managers to establish a schedule of site/branch visits
• Conduct site visits wrt building trust relationships and identifying site specific challenges and barriers / conduct on-site refresher sessions iro programs/interventions/initiatives/campaigns + collate, analyse and report on site visit feedback and statistics
• Manage other SHEQ interventions, initiatives and campaigns:
• Liaise with Africa / BU Risk / SHE managers to establish specific needs and requirements and research and develop appropriate material to address the identified risks
• Liaise with Africa Marketing / external service providers regarding services/material/collateral required
• Liaise with BY Management to finalise logistical arrangements for the roll-out / co-ordinate, monitor and report on the implementation / facilitate workshops and/or present the material at the Africa, BU and Site/Branch levels / collate data, analyse and report on the implementation and success of interventions/initiatives and campaigns
• Liaise with HR/BET for support where required and provide records, analyses and other related documentation
Required Qualifications / Experience
• Minimum Matric (Grade 12)
• Health and Safety Management Diploma or Degree - Essential
• Relevant Training Facilitator / Assessor Certificate or Diploma - Desirable
• Artisan / Technical qualification - Desirable
• 5 years’ relevant experience in operational SHE management - Essential
• 2 years’ relevant experience in training course and material development, training facilitation and assessment - Desirable
• 2 years’ relevant experience in SHEQ and Human Safe Behaviour training facilitation - Desirable
• 2 years’ artisan / technical experience - Desirable
• Microsoft Office Package, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint – Essential
