The Risk Manager will provide support to the national risk manager and ensure that the region remains compliant with all aspects of SHEQ and ensure that the integrated management system is maintained. The person will ensure that the region has an adequate risk – SHEQ management programme, which will address operational risk and safety performance. Risk manager must contribute to the business unit meeting their risk target
Grade 12
Diploma or degree in risk or safety management (Essential)
ISO14001, ISO9001, OHSAS 180001 implementation and internal auditors course (advantage)
OHS act related course (Advantage)
National Environmental management waste act compliance (Advantage)
Hazard identification risk assessment (Essential)
Incident investigation (Essential)
5 years’ experience working in a SHEQ management role in a workplace dealing with waste (Essential)
5 years ISO Management experience (Essential)
Health and safety and environmental legislation (Essential)
SHEQ systems and policies i.e. ISO Metrix and Credit360 (Advantage)
Ensure branch remains compliant with SHE legislation
Ensure branch complies with waste license and municipal permit conditions
Ensure that downstream recyclers in use are compliant and form part of the audit schedule
Conduct external audits on all downstream recyclers to verify compliance
Ensure that appropriate renewal process in undertaken so that all permits. Licenses remain current
Ensure all OHS appointments remain current
Ensure hygiene surveys are conducted as per legal requirements
Facilitate full incident investigations in the JHB regions and ensure company risk are notified timeously
Ensure all aspects of the IMS are complied with
Review processes, procedures, activities on site
Ensure all non-conformances are addressed
Determine risk exposure for each site by conducting risk assessment
Ensure timeous close out of all findings identified in all BCM simulations, risk audits, ISO audits and client audits
Provide in house training on the risk management programme
