Job Description

Resolving problems/conflict when occurrence
Will be coordinating, implementing, controlling and monitoring changed plans
Draw up an expense budget and give input to the departmental budget and ensure that department expenses are within agreed tolerance limits of budget.
Responsible for data integrity control
Responsible for identifying improvement initiatives
Involvement in team planning
Will be responsible for the implementation of operational plans and operational requirements
Execution of SHERQ planning, organising and administration
Execution of SHERQ reporting and support
Develop and manage provision of SHEQ training to ensure employees understand the SHEQ systems in place and their responsibilities in adhering to them.
Ensure systems and activities in place achieve corporate SHEQ objectives, with continuous review.
Maintain any SHEQ management systems to ensure site accreditation.
Collate and prepare information for management review of SHEQ systems to aid decision-making.
Operate within the parameters determined by the Company’s SHEQ Policy.
From Strategic Direction develop a Risk Assessment Plan with regard to SHEQ and determine risks and possible impacts on Company.
Produces and coordinates the yearly SHEQ action plan and longer term SHEQ roadmap, prepares reports for monthly update of same to Senior Management Review Meetings.
Manage Risk Factors relating to contractors on site and ensure that “on-site Work permit” systems is maintained
Ensure that SHEQ Internal Audits are done on a regular basis and records are maintained and followed up
Liaison with HR Dept for initiating and coordinating training plan and updating information for personal and audit requirements.

Minimum Requirements

SHERQ Diploma
COMSOC Certificate
Must have a Blasting Certificate Opencast Mines
Must have at least 8 years in surface mining experience, including 2 years of SHERQ support in mining control, operations and management systems
Must be MS Office proficient, including SHERQ systems, Electronic Document Management system, Enterprise Resource Planning, Information Management and Learner Information Management systems
Technical: Mining Comp A.
Must have a valid driver’s license
