Shift Foreman - Refinery

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide around the clock supervision and technical guidance to refinery plant in accordance with procedures, standards and regulations related to Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Efficiency.
Overseeing all refinery processes and staff.

Main Tasks Include:
Manage and maintain:
- Housekeeping and related documentation
- Occupational safety and related documentation
- Maintenance and related documentation
- Food Safety and related documentation
- Production throughput
- Production quality
- Timesheets
- Staff productive and tasks verified
- Ensure production problems verified and addressed, down time minimised
- Verify quantity and availability of processing chemicals to prevent shortages
- Ensure effluent sampling, results and corrective actions implemented
- Conduct and submit plant specific audits
- Assist with stock take at month end
- Identify staff training needs
- Effective and constructive shift hand-over / take-over

Qualifying Attributes:
- Relevant technical degree or diploma;
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in refinery plant / equipment / processing relevant to the company’s core business;
- Previous experience in Edible Oil and Edible Fats Plant / Solvent Extraction and Refinery experience an added advantage
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry an advantage;
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- Knowledge of quality systems and food safety systems (GMP’s in production environment);
- Computer literacy;
- English literate in communication;
- Committed to work shifts.
