Salary: R 540,000 per annum

Job Summary/Accountabilities:


 


The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:










Effective People Management



An optimised team structure is manned by staff that is motivated, empowered and lead by sound performance management and transformational leadership practices. Promote teamwork, provide support and manage performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans of subordinates. Assume responsibility for managing manpower, efficient resource allocation, declaration of competence and reduction of operating cost.



 


























Compliance



Ensure all business operations adhere and comply with corporate governance, statutory, legal and other requirements. Adhere to OHS/MHS Act, company-specific SHE policies, procedures and legislation.


Manage risk by assessing liabilities, reporting and monitoring standards, as well as attending to rehabilitation / environmental problems in line with Client standards. Accept responsibility for SHERQ by creating awareness and addressing all unsafe practices in a timeous manner. Implement and maintain audit structure


Ensures quality data, documentation and levels of authorisations are applied within applicable process.



Performance Management and CI



Drive research and development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and enhanced performance. Keep abreast of new developments and potential threats within designated area are identified and addressed timeously. Benchmark plant / mining activities and track performance to indicate improvement opportunities.



Production Efficiency



Achieve production targets through optimum output. Ensure operational efficiency and quality. Assume responsibility for coordinating first line maintenance to limit plant / equipment downtime. Control stock levels (where applicable).



Budget and Cost Control



To ensure that actual costs are within the boundaries set by the manpower and operational budgets.


Rectify deviations.



Safe and Healthy Work Environment



Adhere to OHS Act and comply with company specific SHE policies and procedures.


Address all unsafe practices by reporting it to the area manager / representative.


Promote good housekeeping practices and accept safety responsibilities.



Qualifications & Experience:



  • N4 Certificate in Production or Engineering

  • 2 years supervisory experience

  • Experience within a Slag Processing/Production environment (3-5 years)  

  • Computer Literacy- MS Office Suite; SAP

  • Conflict Handling- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances

  • Plant Operations- Slag Processing Process, General and Metallurgical
