SHIFT MANAGER ( STEEL PLANT), WITBANK,RNEG

DEGREE MECH/ELEC OR METALLURGICAL + 5 YEARS EXP IN STEEL PLANT + ABLE TO WORK SHIFTS + ABLE TO WORK ABNORMAL HOURS + VALID DRIVER’S LICENCE.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To supervise the Steel Plant on a shift basis and to meet the company’s targets with regards to the
environment, safety and production.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
•?To conduct VFL’s.
•?Identifying unsafe conditions/acts and taking appropriate action.
•?Ensure Team Members carry out tasks in a safe manner and follow work instructions.
•?Ensure discipline.
•?Responsible to ensure that the following sections are operated on a shift basis to meet targets:
o Shaking Ladle
o BOF
o Ladle Bay
o Raw Material
o Casting Floor
o Cutting Station
•?Process control and problem solving in the Steel Plant.
•?Meet production targets.
•?Attend morning meetings.

EXPERIENCE
•?At least 5 years experience in Steel Plant.
•?Supervisory experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
•?B.Eng. or B.Sc. degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Metallurgical engineering, plus 18 months
applicable work experience.
or
•?National Diploma in any of the above disciplines, plus a minimum of 4 years applicable work
experience.
or
•?Grade 12, plus a minimum of 10 years applicable experience at C Upper level or above in Steel
Plant or similar environment.
