Our client, a well-established food production company on the East Rand in Johannesburg is looking to employ a Shift Millwright, who will be responsible for maintaining and improving all equipment, fault finding, attending to but not limited to electrical and mechanical breakdowns and being actively involved in project work, installations and commissioning of plant equipment.

The position reports to the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will have at least 5-8 years artisan electrical and fitting experience in FMCG or similar manufacturing environment.

Main responsibilities include:
Carry out of dismantling, fitting and assembly of machinery and parts
Executing pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical repairs
Performing planned maintenance on machinery and equipment
Fitting, inspecting, testing and repairing MCC, circuits, wiring systems and electrical equipment
Using installing and apply fault finding on programmable logical control circuits( PLC’s)
Installing and commissioning machinery and equipment
Training and upskilling via knowledge transfer of key staff

Minimum requirements:
5 – 8 years relevant experience within the food manufacturing environment
Matric plus relevant Technical Trade at minimum level of N3
Completed recognized apprenticeship of 3 years (SECTION 13 ONLY, No section 28)
Qualified artisan with a trade certificate
Sound understanding and application of OSHA regulations plus HACCP
Sound understanding and application of preventative maintenance principles/ practices with good interpersonal skills
PC literacy ( MS office, Syspro and Outlook)
Clear Integrity records
Medically fit
Own reliable transport

Annual salary is R500 000 CTC per annum, including medical aid and pension fund.
