Applications are invited from suitably qualified areas of study to apply for the position of a Silk-Screen and Flexographic Printer. This position will be based in Durban.

Machine Operation & Control

Conduct tool changes and set up and optimize Silk-screen and Flexographic printing machines.
Meet OTIFQ requirements
Print to customers signed Std.
Manage a production team to ensure that the printing production plan is met.
Maintain equipment to the required standards.
Communicates any deviations of the production plan to the printing supervisor.
Conducts safe and efficient tooling changes on the printing machines.
Conduct process fault finding to optimize the process and achieve the planned cycle times.
Ensure orders are run on time, in full quantity and to the required quality standards.
Ensure that ISO 22000 standards including health and safety are maintained. I.e. Personal hygiene and correct use of PPE for staff, Cleaning schedules and audits are timeously completed, Production log sheets are correctly filled in.

Measure and Monitor according to Quality Assurance Standards

Perform quality checks as per schedule and take the necessary corrective action to ensure product conformance to specification.
Report quality related problem to the manager timeously.
Monitor packers and ensure that quality standards are maintained. Make up printing screens to customer specification using exposure, wash out and touch up procedures.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Minimum 3 years’ experience Printing in a Plastics Manufacturing environment.
Awareness of WCM practices. i.e. 5S, FI, VPM, Quality.
Grade 12 or equivalent with a pass in Mathematics.
N3 Mechanical qualification
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Silk-screen printing environment.
Basic machine maintenance.
Competent in the use of hand tools and working knowledge of pneumatics.
Awareness of WCM practices. i.e. 5S, FI, VPM, Quality.
Must be computer literate.
Must be able to work shifts
