Job Description

Travelling to sites to attend to HR and IR related requirements
Applying knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labour relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
Wage negotiations and disputes
Conducting disciplinary inquiries
Assisting with disciplinary hearings
Understanding of and implementing the Employee Relations Act
Assisting with compensation and benefits
Employee performance and training requirements
Preparing contractual documentation for approval
Counselling staff about any work or personal problems
Overseeing employee services such as health and safety as well as sports and social facilities where required
Assisting the HR Advisers on the succession planning process and contract management procedures
Participating in and or undertakes projects as delegated by the Head of HR Operations including the review and development of HR policies and procedures and supporting organisational change processes.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification in HR
3-5+ years experience in HR & IR industry
Human behaviour & performance knowledge (identifying an individual’s
Knowledge in the Employment Equity Act, Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Workplace Law, Compensation Occupational Injuries Dispensation (COID) Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act and Bargaining Council (wages, annual leave, climatic conditions)
Disciplinary procedure and Company Code of Conduct knowledge
Must have the ability to manage CCMA, BIBC & BCCEI disputes and resolutions
English & isiXhosa speaking imperative
Proficient in MS packages
Must have a valid driver’s license
