This medium sized construction company operating throughout the KZN province are looking for a qualified Site Engineer who is resident in KZN to handle all the relevant duties on sites for this company who are currently CIDB 8, they handle Building as well as Civil and Roads/Infrastructure projects so are looking for someone who will be an asset to the company and bring a wealth of experience.

Education / Qualification:

• BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering

Experience:

• Approximately 5 years as an Engineer on site
• Experience on Building Structures Projects Requirements
• Experience, knowledge and understanding of civil engineering site requirements
• Very sound knowledge of safety procedures
• Sound knowledge of quality control procedures
• Sound technical knowledge associated with site construction requirements
• Good management skills
• Computer literacy
• Some Microsoft Office skills
• Verbal and written communication
• Experience using planning software

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with Foreman to discuss operational complexities and programming
• Ensure Foremen always have updated copies of section construction programs
• Manage and monitor program and implement fortnightly rolling horizon program
• Monitor subcontractor performance and report non-compliance
• Document and timeously produce method statements as required. Follow through to ensure all method statements are implemented
• Ensure accurate, appropriate shutter details and sketches available
• Timely procurement of materials, plant and equipment
• Ensure all quality control documentation is signed off by clients and sub-contractors and comply with contract specifications
• Accurate site safety record keeping
• Total compliance with company safety requirements and standards
• Ensure accurate P&E record keeping (e.g. plant returns, formwork returns, requisitions, deliveries, labour)o Monitor daily costing and
productivity of labour and plant.
