Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Position: Site Manager.
Closing Date: 20 September 2014
Requirements : Grade 12 with trade certificate
Min 10 years’ Experience as Site Supervision / Superintendent, Power environment an advantage
Technical Qualification and experience or Qualified artisan required in SMEIP (Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping)
Computer literacy a must
Must have the relevant qualification to be appointed as a 16.2
ontract Type - Limited Duration Contract yearly with possible renewal on performance based, this position could hold the successful incumbent for the duration of the project which is approx. 2017 or longer if all is well on site deliverables

Objectives: To ensure that the support processes required to deliver the complete
construction project are in line with the goals set by the PM of IQEMBU, function
proficiently and are under control. EHS compliant
Responsibilities:
•?To monitor the overall performance as the weekly IMT meeting, establishing with
the team the current status and actions required to attain the desired result,
•?To ensure that members of the construction team are given timely support
required to realize the desired result from that portion of the process for which
they are responsible.
•?To ensure the robustness of protocols both inside and outside the main project
process are such that a Plan ‘B’ is implemented in time to avoid process failure.
•?To ensure that construction team members are appropriately qualified, trained and
experienced to act as back-up to others in time of absence.
•?Adds value to the project by recognizing new business opportunities, capitalizing
on it in order to increase competitive advantage and reducing costs.
•?Understand and applies commercial and financial principles in the evaluation of
business practices and processes
•?Views issues in terms of costs, profits, markets, added valued and return on
investment
•?Anticipates and evaluates the impact of own work and that of the project on
profits
•?Accepts and tackles demanding goals with sustained energy and enthusiasm
