Site Manager - Multiple Sites

My client, a national leader in the manufacturing and recycling industry, is seeking a Site Manager to actively manage multiple of their sites across KZN.
1. Collecting waste
1.1. Schedule pick-ups by organizing vehicles, and liaising with a site supervisor.
1.2. Develop relationships with clients.
1.3. Schedule regular meetings with clients to deal with ongoing issues and rectify problems with collection of waste and seek improvements in efficiency.
2. Sorting of waste
2.1. Ensure site managers and supervisors are developed to be able to coach and train their staff.
2.2. Monitor to ensure that sites are organizing the storage of waste by category.
2.3. Set overall priorities for pick ups to ensure best use of outsourced fleet.
2.4. Ensure that manifests are accurately completed and scanned through to head office. Collate customer copies of manifests monthly to reconcile customer records with those of company.
3. Security, safety and housekeeping
3.1. Ensure that pick-ups and storage are done through KZN to meet requirements.
3.2. Develop relationships with site security management to ensure that they monitor all removal of waste from sites i.e. no manifest = no removal.
3.3. Ensure that all staff are issued with and use the appropriate PPE across all sites.
3.4. Ensure that all machinery and equipment is maintained and serviced across all sites.
3.5. Ensure that all operators are trained and appropriately licensed to use machinery or vehicles under their control.
3.6. Ensure that all safety incidents are reported and investigated.
3.7. Ensure that safety reps are trained and hold properly recorded meetings on all sites.
3.8. Ensure that stacking and storage of product meets housekeeping and safety standards. Ensure all demarcated walkways are kept clear.
3.9. Ensure that collections points are kept neat and clean.
3.10. Ensure that all rules of dealing with various categories of waste are understood and followed without exception.
4. Management of staff
4.1. Ensure that all staff are trained to perform their duties and to be able to stand in for one another where needed.
4.2. Ensure that all supervisors and managers are trained to perform all their managerial duties.
4.3. Ensure that managers and supervisors manage performance and conduct effectively.
4.4. Monitor sites to ensure high levels of motivation.
4.5. Recruit staff as required.
4.6. Ensure that staff costs do not exceed budgeted amounts in all sites.
4.7. Collect all time sheets from sites and check for accuracy.
4.8. Investigate any absences reported.
4.9. Authorize time sheets along with the National Services Manager.
4.10. Keep a record of all overtime worked and client authorizations for each site. Monthly accumulate overtime for each site and send this information to Operations Coordinator for the generation of invoices.
4.11. Organize medical surveillance for staff according to client and legal requirements.
5. Provide daily production records to certain clients as required by SLA.
6. Attend to client complaints as they arise and provide a daily report to National Services Manager logging these complaints and actions to resolve them.
Qualification required:
o Matric with high levels of English literacy and numeracy
o Management diploma
Experience:
o 3 to 5 years management experience in an operational environment.
Candidates must also have a good understanding of the COID act requirements as well as have a good understanding of waste management
R20 000 cost to company - negotiable higher based on skills and experience
