Our client is looking for a Site Manager for their Turbo Gen Services (Maintenance) division:

Minimum Qualification Required
• S3/S4 or BSc Mechanical Engineering and a Maintenance management qualification
• Managerial Qualification/N6

Minimum Experience Required
• At least 5 years Maintenance Project management and contract management experience.
• 3 Years Managerial Experience
• Turbo Generator experience on Power Stations

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)

Maintenance Pre-Planning and Mobilization
• Ensure effective high level planning takes place during the Conceptual phase
• Development, spares requirements, planning of resource and capacity requirements
• Negotiate Maintenance Contract for each financial Year and compile and Maintain the KPI of each financial Year with the Client
• Ensure Maintenance Administration tools such as the Maintenance PQP, Maintenance file, commercial register and tender preparation process are in place and complied too
• Ensure that the Enquiry and SOW analysis are effectively and timeously conducted
• Ensure that Quality Planning, Resource planning, Maintenance Planning and estimating are effectively and timeously conducted and coordinated
• Ensure Customer and Rotek Engineering - signed and approved SOW
• Ensure the Tender preparation and presentation process is compiled to and tenders submitted in before the closing dates
• Ensure timeously submission of tender to client and negotiate if required
• Ensure NO ORDER AND NO CONTRACT = NO WORK/COST
• Ensure that availability of customer supplied items have been verified in writing
• Finalize the contract plan, quality plan and Maintenance plan and ensure authorization and acceptance is signed
• Confirm resources, capacity and ensure performance requirements in place
• Prepare or Mobilization, and site establishment as per PM PQP in terms of tools, equipment, facilities, lifting equipment, and ensure all equipment is certified
• Establish a Maintenance reporting and monitoring system on progress, quality and finance
• Sign Plant take over certificates with Customer and equipment is certified

Financial and Contract Management

• Ensure all Maintenance allocated to the Maintenance manager are executed and meeting the critical Maintenance measuring criteria
• Ensure all Processes complied to and Quality is managed to strive for ZERO Defect
• Ensure effective and efficient Maintenance Program control to meet or better due dates
• Ensure Financial and Contract Management
• Ensure effective customer relationships
• Ensure effective Safety Management
• Ensure Effective Human Resources and Industrial Relations
• Ensure affective Subcontractor & inter-department Management of time/quality/cost
• Daily Progress Reporting “CPR” as per standard format before 15h00 if running a Maintenance Projects
• Achieve financial budgets
• Ensure all Box Up Certificates signed, plant permits cleared and final Plant hand over certificates signed
• Ensure Maintenance closed out and sales recognized within 30 days
• Ensure Turbine floor dismantling and clean-up before site cleared
• Ensure all equipment, tools and measuring equipment is accounted for, inspected and deficiencies reported and rectified
• Ensure Service Reports presented to customer within 6 weeks of Maintenance completion
• Maintenance benchmarking report compiled and submitted for processing
• Issue Defects certificates in accordance with the applicable Contract
• Ensure PCR’s and reports are conducted and Maintenance files submitted for archiving “Use” the standard PCR Presentation
• Maintenance Benchmarking report compiled and submitted for processing
• All PFMA Related Transactions To Be In accordance with the procedure
• Ensure sound contract management, and all contract communication is in writing
• Use standard forms (available from the BMS). Any modification to these forms to be approved by Senior Maintenance Manager
• Comply with Budget cycle requirements as per the annual directive from the Finance Manager
• Manage the Income statement and Maintenance cost to meet or exceed financial targets
• Ensure sound Financial Control in terms of D.O.A, cost, purchases and cash
• Cost and sales, and Recoveries and Costs to be matched in the same financial period
• Ensure sound Asset Management in terms of tools, equipment and transport

Business and Quality Management

• Assist to prepare and support the annual Departmental Business Plan
• Ensure adherence to the Management Information System (BaaN) in terms of planning, execution and financial controls
• Ensure adherence to SABS ISO and Internal Quality systems
• Ensure sound and effective Operational Quality in terms of PQP, Check sheets and procedures
• Ensure the SDR process is utilized for continuous improvement
• Ensure Rework is reported and managed as per company requirements
• Ensure adherence to Business Management Systems (BMS), and ensure compliance to standard Maintenance Management systems, forms and procedures
• Research and investigate Technology and method improvements on a continuous basis

Communication, Relationship management

Foster and maintain sound Customer Relationships
Develop an action plan to meet with your client at least on a monthly bases
Ensure Daily formal communication with client during execution of Maintenance
Address Formal customer complaints through the customer complaint and SDR process
Promote strong interrelationships with other sections, such as the Maintenance, maintenance and engineering to ensure a unified approach

Human Resources and Industrial Relations

• Ensure effective and efficient Manpower Scheduling and Control in terms of production planning, utilization, overtime, leave and training
• Scheduling of Leave
• Performance problems to be addressed via the P&DR process, corrective action through training and development, and documented as such
• Personal training and development
• Create a culture change through good IR Management

SHEQ responsibilities
• Continuous Improvement: Ensure that your Administration Document is current, and includes your SHEQ objectives Ensure that all legal appointments are valid and in place for your area of control
• SHE Compliance: As a Section 8 & 9 appointee, you are to ensure that the duties of the employer as contemplated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 are properly discharged and all legal appointments are valid and in place for your area of control
• Reduce rework: Measure and report on Rework vs. Revenue for your department on a monthly basis and ensure you reduce rework to less than 0.5% of your turnover
• ISO and OHSAS certification: Ensure that all activities are carried out as per the documented processes and comply with the requirements of ISO and OHSAS certification
• Audit Rating: Maintain an audit score of less than 2 and/or receive no major audit findings

Salary: R550k – R750k per annum
