Qualifications and Experience
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Qualified electrician or technician.
• Knowledge and previous experience of HV substations and overhead lines.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Related project and construction supervision experience.
• Ability to communicate with our client on site.
• Strong on document handling and control.
• MS project knowledge and experience in tracking and updating of programme.

The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision and management of our civil works, steel works and electrical installation - contractors and site testing of 132/11kV Substation, the 11kV Collector Network. The position necessitates extensive site work, reporting on daily activities, site meetings, outage co-ordination and client interfacing, resulting in a full working day and exhausting site travelling.

Tasks will include:
• Supervision of bulk earthworks, civil works and building contractors.
• Checking set-out points and substation layout relative to design drawings.
• Supervise the installation of substation steelwork, busbar, HV outdoor equipment, and protection panels.
• Extract and implement information shown on drawings.
• Plan and co-ordinate site activities and outages.
• Manage workforce (either in-house or subcontract) with respect to performance, safety, quality and programme.
• Report on site proceedings.
• Supervise cabling, terminating and wire connections.
• Assist with the ringing out of cable.
• Assist with site acceptance testing of electrical equipment.
• Interface with consultant and customer representatives.
• Enforcing health, safety and environmental standards on site.
• Maintain site administration systems and filing.
• Plan on site activities with respect to material requirements, resourcing and customer interfacing.
• Manage site float.
