One of our rapidly growing clients in the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering sector are looking to employ a Skilled Mechanical Fire Engineer that specialises in the building industry, suitable candidates will be based in their Durban offices respectively. The successful candidates should have knowledge of primary design applications and concepts of fire systems in the building industry respectively.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must hold a BSc, BEng or alternatively a BTech Mechanical Engineering degree
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) or alternatively a (Pr.Tech) with ECSA
Must have 3 – 5 years knowledge of primary design applications and concepts of fire systems.
Must have knowledge of designs that comply with Codes of Practice, Statutory requirements as well as regulations, including SANS, NFPA, ASIB and BS
Must be able to apply engineering calculations for smoke detectors, evacuation systems, smoke ventilation, automatic sprinklers, hydraulic design etc.
Must be able to design, control, organise and plan complete projects
Must be able to develop and present financial reports, tender documentation as well as technical reports
Must be able to create rational fire designs
