Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality poultry products to markets via various brands is seeking to employ a suitably qualified and experienced electrician as a SKOV technician for its Broiler operations in the Agriculture department. This position holds the TASK Grade T13 and reports directly to the Senior Production Manager.
The successful incumbent should be in the possession of a matric certificate, a driver's license, a completed trade test, an NQF 4 or 5 qualification, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical fault finding and problem-solving and 3 years’ experience in setting up and maintaining SKOV ventilation systems.

Results required:
• Optimise company SKOV standards and settings through analysis of the relationship between broiler feed, climatic condition and bird performance levels. Regularly interact with SKOV supplier on new developments;
• Optimise and standardise bird climatic conditions through preventative maintenance, end-of-cycle set-ups. Timeous responses to break-downs/changes in ambient conditions to ensure optimum broiler production;
• Ensure all electrical work meets legal requirements and comply with Health and Safety requirements;
• Research new development on equipment, methods and software, and ensure staff are trained on SKOV;
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures relating to SKOV;
• Maintain high BRC compliance and high standards of housekeeping;
• Mitigate risk in areas pertaining to alarm limits, alarm types and back-up alarm systems;
• Ensure that all administrative responsibilities are completed, checked and signed off timeously;
