PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Senior Instructional Designer will provide vision, leadership and coordination in designing, developing and delivering fully online and blended courses and technology-enhanced instructional materials. Candidates will be Cape Town based and work from the business premises. There is an element of travel which could grow with client take-on and the clients’ requirements.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Qualifications:
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• BA Degree or relevant Diploma in English, instructional design, instructional technology, curriculum design or other related discipline required
• A minimum of 5 years professional experience in designing, developing and managing online, blended or other technology-mediated instruction
• Proficient in instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, Four D Model etc.)
• Skilled in using MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
• A knowledge of other rapid development tools is an advantage


Experience:
5+ years’ experience with a demonstrable track record in the following:

• Management of stakeholders on strategic projects and accounts
• Expert knowledge in Instructional Design theory and methodologies
• Ability to work within a matrix team environment
• Expert storyboarding experience (with a specific focus on digital)
• Ensure quality work is delivered to exceed client expectation
• Ability to articulate a client need and ensure that it is addressed in all phases of the project; from crafting of the solution to delivery
• Experience in app and web development projects would be an advantage
