Snr Mechanical Engineers - Contract Position ( +/- 7 months) - office based work on several different projects and site visits

Maximise the effectiveness of project team to achieve the project objectives, meet project schedule and ensure quality by adhering to QMS/ISO 9000:2000 procedures.

Education skills and Experience
• BSc/B.Eng Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Registration will be an Advantage
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Working knowledge of International codes
• Strong communication skills
• Team player

Responsibilities
• Act as Senior Mechanical Engineer on the Project site.
• Manage and control the site Junior Engineers and Inspectors.
• Review Technical Specifications for compliance with Contract Documents.
• Responsible for all Mechanical work including, Process Piping, Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors etc. and relevant to all manufacturing and Process plants.
• Inspect and report on existing Mechanical installation. Prepare work scope for remedial work and design additional systems as determined from inspections.
• Review Technical and Financial proposals from Contractors.
• Review technical material submittals for compliance with client specifications?.
• Review drawing submittals (both shop drawings and vendor drawings) for compliance with Contract Documents.
• Review Mechanical Calculations for compliance with Contract Documents.
• Implement, manage and control the Mechanical Project Quality Assurance plan.
• Plan, monitor and control the inspection of all Mechanical equipment at manufacturing plants. Supervise installation of Mechanical equipment and systems at the site by the Contractors.
• Coordinate Mechanical work and interface with relevant Engineering.
• Attend weekly Project review meetings and report on progress.
• Review, monitor and report on the Project construction schedule.
• Review, design and implement Client change orders.
• Review As-built drawings for the Mechanical work.
• Review, Operation and Maintenance Manuals for Mechanical equipment.
• Witness Factory acceptance testing of Mechanical Equipment.
• Review, Project acceptance procedures and participate in Contract close out.
• Ensure senior staff is kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
• Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategies and services complies to client’s requirements and that BH policy complies with current legislation, Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
• Commitment to CPD and self-learning / development.
• Any other adhoc duties as assigned from time to time.
