SNR MINE PLANNING ENGINEER, SISHEN (NORTHERN CAPE), RNEG
DEGREE MINING + 4 YEARS EXP IN MINE PLANNING & PIT LAYOUT + DRIVERS LICENCE + SOFTWARE PACKAGES (XPAC & SURPAC) + UNDERSTANDING MINING PRINCIPLES.
As Senior Mine Planning Engineer, you will report to the Mine Planning Manager for all the technical aspects of the mine planning process which include optimisation, mine design, production scheduling, reconciliation, option analyses, mining cost modelling and financial evaluations.
Additionally, you will provide direction and technical support to the mining department, inclusive of employees and contractors. You will also have the ability to identify training needs of the department and provide training to junior members of the department.
Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering are essential, as is experience in open pit mining operations. You will have experience developing open cut/ open pit mine designs, plans and schedules, a strong commitment to health, safety and environment standards and excellent analysis and problem solving skills.

Requirements:
• Relevant Degree in Mining Engineering
• 4+ years’ experience in mine planning & pit layout
• Code 8 driver’s license
The incumbent must have the following competencies:
• Understanding of open pit mining and continuous blending strategies
• Software packages:
XPAC
SURPAC
Knowledge of other mining scheduling and design software will be advantageous
• Understanding of Mining budgets
• Knowledge of Mining, Plant and ore characteristics
Remuneration:
• The initial salary will be determined in accordance with client regulations.
