Requirements:
  • Must have a post-matric computers or electronics related qualification such as BSC or B IT or B ENG and formal project management training.
  • Have a track record of software project management: 5+ years’ experience.
  • Have domain knowledge of rapid application software development on product module level, systems engineering and software integration skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft projects server 2010 and SharePoint.
  • A Java background is essential.
  • Essential: Be a resident in the Pretoria area or willing to relocate should the individual stay out of Pretoria area.
  • Willing to travel internationally.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. Have a strong operations goal focused approach.
  • Willing to work overtime to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a disciplined environment with agile methodologies yet have structured processes.
  • Have applied software testing and quality assurance practices.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Create Scope of work plans for systems and product modules in the Software department.
  • Schedule Software department team member activities using MS projects 2010 Server and SharePoint.
  • Track progress against plan for budget, scope, risks and client expectations.
  • Liaison with developers, testers, product engineers and technical writers to assist in the reproduction of defects.
  • Ensure quality in software practices and support for testing manager and technicians.
  • Track issues, features and requirements management in provided tools in line with operation requirements.
  • Assist SW engineers in systems preparation for factory acceptances.
  • In country software support and communications.
  • Communications and priority tracking in Software department.
  • Assist in sourcing equipment, software licenses and development hardware.
  • Detect software development risks early and take corrective action.
  • Support the existing software project and operations manager in scheduled activities.
