1. Description

We are looking for a Software Services Deployment Specialist to execute software deployments, administer and track configuration changes, and provide support to our Software & testing teams, as well as our customers.

The Deployment Specialist team members work closely with the Deployment Manager, application development, and testing teams to deploy software releases and configuration changes to various environments. Deployments can include multiple products and boundary systems such as Oracle and 3rd party connections.

Interaction, communication, understanding of the deployment requirements and relationships within the teams will form the basis of the deployment strategy and execution from the project initiation stage to the subsequent go live deployment to implement the solution.

2 . Primary Job Responsibilities

2.1 The Software Services Deployment Specialist role requires an in depth understanding of enterprise IT software deployment and life cycle processes for complex integrated enterprise applications

2.2 Deploy software and perform required post-deploy configuration tasks to completion.

2.3 Pre & Post deployment support which includes:

2.3.1 Assistance to facilitate testing

2.3.2 Follow up deployment tasks if issues are discovered

2.3.3 Assist in troubleshooting deployment issues required to support the Dev, QA, UAT deployments and Production go-live for each major solution, and the associated boundary applications for the implementation phase.

3 Secondary Job Responsibilities

3.1 Document new & maintain existing deployment processes for in-house developed software.

3.2 Compile and run deployment training sessions for in-house developed software.

3.3 Test and validate the deployment of in-house developed solutions.

3.4 Support operational teams monitoring the solution in production.

4. Required Skills and Experience

4.1 Minimum 5 years of IT technical experiences with roles in multiple phases of software deployment and knowledge of SDLC.

4.2 Understanding of Oracle, Windows Operating System, Windows Server, IIS, SSL, TCP/IP, Networking, Port forwarding and routing to name a few. Formal qualifications with these technologies will be advantageous.

4.3 Hands-on experience with large deployments in complexed environments will be advantageous.

4.6 Ability and willingness to participate in QA and UAT if required

4.7 Candidate must be willing to travel locally and abroad.

4.8 Candidate will be required to work flexible hours as the Project timeline’s requires.

5 Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience

6 Premises is in Tyger Waterfront, Bellville Cape town, own transport is advantageous.
