A well-established Software Company based in Paarl has an excellent opportunity for a SOFTWARE SUPPORT CONSULTANT at their head office.

The successful applicant will be responsible for installing and supporting of their custom-made Software and related hardware, mainly aimed at the Agricultural sector in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

Hardware and Software:
• First and second line support on all Company software, was well as related hardware;
• Fault finding and solving op problems experienced by Clients;
• Manage and follow up with Clients on support issues.

Testing:
• Assist with testing of Company software and related hardware.

Software Installations:
• Installation of Company software and hardware products and related admin, e.g. Licences, paraments, etc.
• Checking of shortcuts, network links and printers used by relevant software;
• Preparation of installation package for new installations (CD’s, Manuals, etc)
• Installations may need to be done on site so travelling is often necessary.
• Following up of clients for the first month after initial installation to ensure that they are satisfied.
• Checking set up of new Clients.
• Individual training of Clients.

Training:
• Presenting training classes for a group of Clients. (Including setting up pc’s, coordinating necessary refreshments and printing manuals.)

Other duties:
• Assisting with writing manuals;
• Assist with research and development;
• To assist with related functions required to perform the above tasks;
• To perform any other reasonable duties as directed by Management;
• To be available to work overtime at the request of Management;
• To assist with special projects;
• Ensure that the confidentiality of all Clients’ data is maintained at all times.
