A fast-growing IT/Software company, based in Paarl, has an opportunity for a SOFTWARE SUPPORT CONSULTANT to join their team. The successful incumbent with have a Gr. 12 qualification with strong IT skills, installing of Software and be able to give Client support. Payroll experience will be advantageous and attention to detail is essential.
Main purpose of the Job:
Responsible for installing and supporting company software and related hardware products to it’s clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Software & Hardware support:
First and second line support on all company software, as well as related hardware. This includes fault finding and solving of problems that clients are experiencing.
Manage the following up of clients dealt with on support issues.
Testing: assist with testing of Company software and related hardware.

Software installations:
Installations of Company software and hardware products and related admin eg. Licences, parameters etc.
Checking of shortcuts, network links and printers used by relevant software.
Installations may need to be on site so travelling is often necessary.
Preparation of installation package for new installations (cd’s, manuals etc)
Following up of clients for the first month after initial installation to ensure that they are satisfied.
Checking setups of new client
Individual training of clients.

Training:
Presenting training classes for a group of clients. (includes setting up pc’s, co-ordinating
necessary refreshments and printing manuals).
Other duties
Assisting with writing manuals.
Assist with research and development
To assist with related functions required to perform the above tasks.
To perform any other reasonable duties as directed by Management.
To be available to work overtime at the request of Management.
To assist with special projects.
Ensure that the confidentiality of all client’s data is maintained at all times.
