You are the Software Support Officer of the Client Services department. You wave your magic wand, provide the Client’s with exceptional service, the transaction transmission is fixed, data problems resolved and deadlines are met and the Client adore you. Just like that. You monitor and resolve. You need to avoid penalties and stay in budget– all while projecting an air of confidence and positive thinking.

Requirements

You should be able to handle the amount of work, handle difficult situations. Assertiveness and taking responsibility is one of your strong suits.
Able to communicate effectively in high-pressure environments. Must be able to maintain a stable performance under pressure or opposition and handle stress in an acceptable manner. You are able to work in-dependently and you possess the skill to solve problems effectively.
Monitoring and fixing of transaction transmission and data problems
Ensure the “Red” list is clear
Reduce departmental and company overheads and/or expenses;
Ensure all other rejections are followed-up with the Operator;
Ensure Risk is limited to a minimum;
Ensuring that there are no penalties awarded due to Software Support Issues;
Delivering client acceptable Software Support on time and within budget;
Delivery to provided deadlines;
Amount and accuracy of work;
Ensuring delivery of effective Software Support within the scales agreed with client on Software;
Provide a professional and timely support service to Clients;
Communication towards client's and improving client relations;
Maintenance and use of the Hard Cat Helpdesk system
Adherence to Policies & Procedures;
Display of Initiative (also in respect of steps taken to meet deadlines/perform task as expected);
Implement system to ensure preventative software maintenance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Grade 12; and
Experience in Informix, Unix, SQL, Linux (an advantage)
Proven Linux, Unix, Informix, MySQL experience (Compulsory)
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft and Windows; (Compulsory)
