Solidworks Draughtsman needed to assist with detailed and layout design of bulk materials handling equipment for a variety of mechanical turn key projects. Experience in the engineering construction and/or manufacturing industry is essential.

Qualifications/experience:
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proficient with Solid Works or 3D equivalent software
• At least 2 years in the Bulk Materials Industry
• Computer Literate

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities and Dimensions/Territory/Scope/Scale indicators (the areas to which responsibilities extend and the scale of responsibilities - staff, customers, territory, products, equipment, premises, etc)

• Read, understand and interpret mechanical design briefs for all new projects or product development;
• Assist in the maintenance and continual improvement of the standards and procedures for the drawing/design function in consultation with the Senior Design Draftsperson & Engineering Manager.
• Component and assembly design
• Produce detail drawings to manufacturing
• Provide manufacturing with technical support
• Assist design engineers with drawings from concept to manufacturing
• Quality assurance
• Provide calculated engineering designs, advice and solutions
• Assist engineers with Product development.
• Assist engineer(s) with project documentation e.g. Engineering Drawings, etc.
• Ensure deadlines are met
• Carry out mechanical design drafting/drawing as instructed, on time and budget;
• Liaise with sub-contract fabricators to obtain practical feedback to help improve the performance of the drawing function with regard to the accuracy, quality and presentation of the information;
• Liaise with the workshop, fabricators and commissioning personnel to obtain practical feedback for improvements;
