PBT Group has an opportunity for Solution Architects that will be responsible for the shaping, implementing and leading delivery of strategic solutions ensuring that the customer stays on the leading edge of technology.

Duties:
• Generate innovative approaches and solutions to complex issues.
• Design solutions that require creative investigations of alternative architectural solutions.
• Design architecture using new technologies in consultation with the patterns approval by Enterprise Architecture.
• Collaborate with the Architecture team to identify the right technologies to be used in the applications.
• Contribute across the technology stack, from database and DevOps infrastructure that supports continuous deployment.
• Demonstrate leadership in product quality, technical excellence and engineering practices.
• Provide guidance in Agile engineering practices and various software and web development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance client’s customer, business partners and employee experience.
• Follow the role-model best practice engineering processes and Agile behaviour.
• Encourage team members to craft clear user stories, design tests for prototypes and solutions, and continuously deliver product enhancements.
• Liaise with other teams within and outside client digital unit to identify common deliverables and dependencies.
• Collaborate with various technical and architecture teams across the enterprise.
• Influence peers and technical staff within the team and collaborate with internal customers and work teams across departments.
• Collaborate closely with product owners and team members to identify and socialise product and delivery risks.
• Work closely with the technical lead/infrastructure teams from the organisation to ensure solution complies with organisational standards and policies.
• Balance strategic vision and strategy with the team to enable the execution of scalable and sophisticated solutions to solve common business needs.
• Act as the principal designer for the products.
• Design Architecture diagrams that will help the team and integration partners to understand the solution and vision.
• Adhere to the relevant Governance processes.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to propose changes to Principles, Standards and Reference Architectures
• Contribute to the development of Detailed Business Cases in conjunction with Business and IT Solution and Service Providers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Architecture team to identify the right technologies to be used in the applications.

• Experience with being technical responsibility for the development, implementation and testing of at least one major application.
• Shows evidence of strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Appreciates the importance of commercial constraints.
• Expert knowledge of all stages of systems development, from specification to implementation.
• Demonstrates a wide and detailed IS knowledge coupled with thorough knowledge of the workings of own
• Organise the organisations IS plans and policies and some awareness of comparable organisations.
• Experience in modern API platform design.
• Experience in modern security practices.
• Experience partitioning large systems into subsystems and components that can be handled by a single
• Engineer or team of engineers.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Good understanding of the organisation's business strategy, business practices, and competitive
• Environment.
• Has a good mix of Technical Skills, Business Acumen, and a strong desire to support the customer.
• In-depth understanding of the specific domain and pertinent technologies
• Knowledge of Architecture methodologies (ToGAF, Gartner) in relation to software intensive systems.
• Knowledge of Information System Design.
• Knowledge of Solutions Architecture.
• Proven ability to roll out phased solutions.
• Understanding of computer server architectures, including peripheral interfaces and multi-processor designs.

Qualifications/ Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in development and design (Application, Infrastructure, etc.).
• Bachelor’s Degree in either Information Systems, Informatics or Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
• Information Technology Architect Certification (ITAC) (Open Group).
• TOGAF Foundation Training.
• TOGAF / Zachman Certification.
