A national FMCG company located in Cape Town, has an opportunity for a top performing SOLUTION ARCHITECT to join their information technology team.

To understand business requirements, including SAP HR Modules, to create high quality data, application and technology architectures and designs in support of the business requirements, and to lead the realization of the design into the final solution implementation utilising SAP software and technologies where appropriate.


QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Information Systems / B Sc Computer Science (or similar)

EXPERIENCE 7-10 yrs Working experience within the IT industry.
5-10 yrs Working experience in SAP HR, covering most/all of the SAP HR SAP modules
5+ yrs Experience with:
Understanding of different methods of SAP integration (ALE/IDOC, enterprise services, MFT, PI). Worked on projects across multiple SAP HR modules, SAP and non-SAP applications
Experience with all aspects of IT projects from business analysis, architectures, system analysis and design through development, testing, implementation, and production support (SDLC).
Excellent design and architecture skills and proven track record delivering well designed complex enterprise class systems.
Identification and formulation of solution architecture and solution alternatives and their assessment.
Experience developing and architecting object-orientated applications using multiple programming languages and paradigms
2-3 Yrs Experience in:
Lead a team through an architectural development process and collaborate with application development teams, architects and other members of the software development team.
Experience with current research and standards in Solution Architecture.
Experience in high volume data and files processing, in a batch and real time, integration environment.
Project management experience of mid-sized projects.
Retail industry experience with an understanding of retail business processes

JOB OBJECTIVES

Create architectures and designs for SAP HR solutions that are aligned with business blueprints, non-functional requirements, delivery constraints, data, application and technology standards, and architecture standards within the focus area for the position:
Develop and maintain an understanding of the business strategy and changes to business priorities
Analyse and understand business requirements in the contact of the current business environment and translate business requirements into the most effective SAP solution
Engage all stakeholders to obtain agreement on the proposed solutions
Keep abreast of the latest SAP trends and emerging technologies, identify and analyse SAP architecture best practices, determine the potential impact on the enterprise, and drive adoption as deemed appropriate
Ensure that software licensing are considered when designing solutions
Work with relevant stakeholders to determine the roadmaps for the area of responsibility
Re-evaluate current customised solutions to determine if there is a SAP standard solution
Ensure solution architecture quality and serve as the primary point of contact for SAP HR solution design between the project team and the SDLC process within the focus of the position:
Partner with the Domain/SAP Architect in support of solutions definition and development
Be clearly identified as the senior SAP HR technical lead and provide technical guidance and leadership in proposals, RFI’s, RFs, and SAP HR project teams
Work closely with Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Team Leaders and Project managers to design and implement SAP HR Solutions
Provide architectural oversight and guidance to the SAP HR development team to ensure high-quality technical solution designs during the detailed design, build, test and deploy phases that conforms to architecture principles and standards
Detect critical deficiencies in the SAP HR architectures and recommend improvements
Govern and assure the functional and technical delivery of complex SAP HR implementations throughout the entire project lifecycle
Review solution architecture deliverables throughout the system lifecycle for compliance to architecture principles and standards
Mentor senior developers/designers/business analysts to become Solution Architects
Minimize customization by ensuring that the design is a close to the “out-of-the-box” solution as possible
Create a 3-5 year SAP HR Roadmap.
