Kendrick Recruitment is now on the lookout for an outstanding Sommelier for a luxury 5* Hotel based in Umhlanga Village, KZN. This Hotel is one of the most exclusive 5* Hotels in the area and incredibly high standard are expected from the potential candidates. The Sommelier will be responsible for the wine presentation and service as well as wine sales. The role will involve assisting the F&B Managers in regards to all the sommelier duties and related guest services. Wine tasting presentations, meal wine services, guest wine sales, maintenance and appearance of the wine cellars and their stock levels will be required. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and experience: A passion for wineA completed DIPLOMA in a Cape Wine Academy courseExperience in beverage service and salesStrong admin skillsLeadership skills As such the person filling this position needs to have:· A passion for wine· Completed or be studying the Diploma Cape Wine Academy course· A hospitality degree would be favoured· 3-4 years experience as a Sommelier in a 4/5* establishment· A formal and professional manner· A keen sense of responsibility· Fully fluent in written and spoken English, other languages will be highly favoured· An ability to interact with guests at all levels· Strong sales ability· Strong knowledge of the current trends in the beverage industry· Ability to cultivate relationships with distributors and vintners The salary offer is R15,000 – R18,000 + benefits I you feel like this is the next career move for you then please apply today.
