We are looking for an energetic, organized and passionate Sous Chef with at least 2 years 4/5 star experience in a busy kitchen at this Sous Chef level.
You should have the following to be invited for an interview:
- Matric
- Formal qualification in cookery
- Fluency in English and other languages are an advantage especially isiZulu
- Experience supervising Hot and Cold kitchens, Baking as well as scullery etc
- Excellent communication skills and guest interaction skills with a positive and friendly outlook on life
- All-round culinary skills : a la carte, some fine dining, buffets, special dietary catering, (food styling/plating)
- Strong kitchen management skills : staff supervision, training, discipline, kitchen maintenance, hygiene, stock control and ordering of stock
- Sound administration skills and computer literate in Word, Excel, Basic Micros
- Experience with menu planning and costings
- Strong team player as team leader – good motivator and trainer of junior staff
- Must be prepared to work kitchen hours and to go the extra mile when necessary.
- Reliable transport arrangements
