Sous Chef with excellent cooking and strong kitchen management skills sought for our client, a beautiful, busy Luxury Lodge (part of a national group of hotels and lodges) with the closest city Mosselbay in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef. We are looking for an organised, directed individual who can run a tight ship. The position is live-in.

The successful candidate will have:
A formal culinary qualification
At least 5 years’ working experience and experience working in a lodge environment.
Management experience, able to manage a brigade of 12 staff
Good ala carte experience
Good people skills, both with staff and clients

Duties will include:
Menu planning
Cost control & calculations
Stock control and ordering
Ordering and supplier negotiations
Staff management
Staff training
Hygiene control

Hours will be as per operational requirement, working 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

Salary offered is R12 000 CTC per month, live-in.
