Location: Diep River, Cape Town
Salary: R10k per month
Start: Immediate

Requirements:
Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Sous Chef
Available Immediately
Diploma in cookery – minimum of 3 years training
Excellent communication skills in English and one other language.
Computer literacy on an intermediate level
Valid driver’s license and own transport to get to and from work.
Must be willing to work and learn across all stations in the kitchen.
Must have the ability to bake.
Must be reliable and punctual.
Must have stamina, as the hours are long and unpredictable (early mornings, late nights, weekends and public holidays).
Must work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanour in stressful situations.
Must be a team player, able to boost morale and lead by example.
Organisational skills and attention to detail are essential in this role.
Must be passionate about food and service.
Must have contactable references.
Must be able to work trial shifts.

Duties:
Management of junior staff members.
Working to improve all staff members’ skills and knowledge of food preparation, presentation and service.
Assistance with sourcing and liaising with suppliers, when so required, to ensure that premium products are procured without compromising on affordability.
Assisting with placing orders with suppliers.
Assisting with stock control including intake, rotation and wastage.
Assisting with monthly stock-takes.
Assisting with menu design and costing of all menus.
Keeping up with food trends and demonstrating a flair for presentation.
Ensuring that all products that are delivered and served by the company are of an exceptionally high standard in flavour, freshness and aesthetics.
Enforcing the strict health, safety and hygiene measures as implemented by the head chef in the kitchen.
Always leading by example.
Driving company vehicles, should the need arise for deliveries, collections and so forth.
Interacting with clients in a friendly, professional manner when so required.
