Our client, a Fine Dining Restaurant in Port Elizabeth, has a vacancy for a Sous Chef

Minimum requirements:

  • Cooking Diploma from a recognized training institution and / or
  • 2 years' working experience as a Sous Chef at a 4-5 star establishment
  • English - well spoken
  • Drivers licence preferred
  • Good knowledge of Food & Beverage Service

Duties:

  • Daily preparation of meals as per the set menus to  star standards
  • Willing to tak responsibility for the kitchen, its equipment, the stock and the junior chefs working under him/her for the duration of his/her shift
  • Understand the importance of hygiene and safety measures in a kitchen
  • Understand and be familiar with food cost, orders, stock take and FIFO stock control
  • Have good people and kitchen management skills
