Our client, a well-established luxury resort and spa in Somerset West, is seeking a Spa Therapist to proudly and passionately administer professional spa treatments to their guests as well as to deliver the highest standards of treatments through courteous and knowledgeable spa services beyond the satisfaction of their guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing consistent and professional spa treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices
• Effectively informing and educating guests about specific wellness concerns
• Maintaining a complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products on offer
• Upholding the standards of sanitation and sterilisation as directed by law as well as the spa’s policies and procedures
• Performing prep work as well as properly cleaning and restocking rooms as required
• Communicating to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention
• Actively promoting the treatments, services, and retail products of the spa as well as any programmes, promotions, and/or discounts on offer
• Handling guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously
• Providing accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests
• Regularly attending, participating in and supporting training and staff meetings for the spa
• Assisting in all areas of spa operation as required by management
• Adhering to and complying with health, safety and hygiene practices at all times as lawfully required
• Demonstrating service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards that exceeds expectations
• Taking the appropriate actions to resolve guest complaints
• Maintaining a high level of product, service and general industry knowledge to enhance the guests’ experience
• Creating an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation
• Ensuring the all deadlines are met for daily, weekly, monthly and internal reports as requested by management or the head office
• Becoming familiar with all fire, safety and emergency procedures in order to communicate them to guests and reporting staff members
• Performing additional duties as required
• Attending training sessions and courses as required

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric as well as a relevant Spa Therapy qualification
• Able to maintain a flexible work schedule
• Knowledge of how to properly care for equipment and the amount of product necessary per client
• Able to work without supervision
• Able to maintain a positive attitude in order to contribute toward a quality work environment
