Detailed Description

· Development; maintenance and control of pricing structures ensuring key underwriting/financial metrics within the business plan are achieved.

· Apply the control cycle for all pricing actuarial work:

· Collect & analyse, build models, implement, monitor, refine.

· Deploy and test pricing models

· Collect data for all actuarial work

· Apply actuarial / statistical techniques for pricing.

· Build and maintain rate and test models

· Provide input into the rate engine /Black box design specifications.

· Build models to profit test new products as well as changes to existing products

· Monitor trends and advise business accordingly.

· Design and implementation of corrective actions into the business.

· Compile the Monitoring pack for EXCO ensuring that insights are provided.

· Provide Ad hoc analytically support and in-depth investigations for actuarial purposes e.g. (Claims; CPI, Procurement), SIU / Fraud.

· Compile Portfolio Management reports for entire division

· Contribute to the setting of parameters for the budgeting and business planning cycle

· Contribute to specialized analytic assignments and projects where required

· Assist with data collection and analysis for Group Schemes and UMA’s

· Provide support to Operations as required.

· Maintain service, quality and desired outputs within a specific functional process through ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.

· Resolve escalated technical referrals and provide feedback to customers on matters resolved.

· Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals

· Measure and monitor service delivery compliance of team.

· Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.

· Align own behavior with the organisation culture and values.

· Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues.

· Collaborate and work with the team members to ensure required service levels are delivered.

Job Requirements

· Relevant Actuarial degree

· Desirable

· Excellent knowledge of data manipulation and statistical techniques (especially GLMs)

· Knowledge of programs such as Premium/Emblem/SAS will be an advantage

· Essential:

· Experience in an actuarial, specifically short-term, environment will be an advantage Additional Details
