PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To develop implement, optimise and influence Change / Release management processes / systems by applying Service Transition (Change and Release Management) aligned to the ITIL Service Lifecycle, relevant ISO standards and Cobit Governance to Government enabling effective service management, to support the management of BA, SLAs, OLAs and underpinning contracts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Implemenation of ITIL Life Cycle stage (Service Transition) relevant to IT Change & Release Management for services provides to governemnt. Manage requests for change (IT Request -RFCs). Perform impact and resource analysis. Coordinate change/release build and test phases as well as implementation. Approval of and authorization of minor non-cross functional changes. Report and collaboration on change/ release management activities and/or progress. Manage change/release build and test phases as well as implementation.

Qualification Minimum: National Diploma / Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or equivalent. ITIL Practitioners Certification & ITIL Foundations Certification will be an added advantage.
Experience: 3-5 years experience in Service Management principles related to change release, and configuration management good practice methodologies, implementation and application of change, release, and configuration management processes and supporting technology i.e. (ITIL, Cobit, ISO), experience of working in a team and involvement in project management delivery concepts and experience in dealing with customers.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES DESCRIPTION

Knowledge of: Processes and procedure development and implementation; Understanding of Service Operations aligned to ITIL good practice methodology; Understanding service/process performance evaluation, monitoring and reporting; Fair understanding and practice of Project Management; Good understanding of ICT industry and IT Architecture and components. Skills: Good communication both written and verbal; Good interpersonal skills; Good problem analysis and solving skills; Good negotiation skills; Service / Process performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
