The Specialist: Structured Finance will report to Senior Manager: Funding. To provide structured financial solutions to SMMEs through the relevant product offerings that seek to achieve the required internal rate of Returns

The Key Performance Areas will encompass:

  • Initiate and implement relevant structured financial solutions in line with the strategy of the company and Industry best practice;
  • Generate new business in assistance to the Regions and assist Regional DF & BS Account Manager and Senior Account Manager in assessing business plans and proposals for funding;
  • Analyse client’s needs and respond with structured financial solutions in support to Account Managers and Senior Account Managers placed in the Regional Offices;
  • Manage the analysis of the client financial position to assess the risk; mitigate the identified risk to within an acceptable level and in line with company's Risk Appetite having cognisance of the company's Developmental Mandate;
  • Evaluate and give input and recommendation the viability of client business plans and funding proposals;
  • Drive and monitor the loan proposal and origination process to acceptable turnaround times (end-to-end processing);
  • Report monthly on the number of applications at hand, being processed and completed, and ones being rejected;
  • Identify, evaluate and review and give recommendation on industry and sector specific financial programs as well as relevant funding opportunities and align with company's funding model in line with the corporate strategy of the company
  • Benchmark the company with financial institutions best practice;
  • Comply with relevant legislation in terms of credit granting, implementation and recovery of loans granted;
  • Align the SMMEs activities with the company policies and procedures specific to DF& BS.
  • Develop and monitor performance standards against targets set per unit and/or company Strategy;
  • Package relevant ED communication, messages and policies for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Drive company targeted performance in line with the Developmental Mandate without compromising financial sustainability;
  • Provide continuous feedback and input to management regarding improvements to current policies and procedures;
  • Support Account Manager and Senior Account Manager based at Regional Offices in achieving departmental goals and objectives;
  • Assist and support the Regional Offices in achieving their set Regional targets in line with DF&BS targets, goals and objective which augments into the company's corporate strategy;
  • Participate in management forums within the company, contributing expertise to enable sound decision making (multi-skilled participation);
  • Provide detailed, accurate information for internal and external audit purposes and action audit issues identified;
  • Recommend controls within the section which minimize potential risk to the Corporation.


REQUIREMENTS


Degree in Finance and Accounting;
At least 5-8 years’ experience in the banking industry or Development Finance sector (3-5 years of which must be credit granting and/or deal making experience in the SMME and/or Business Banking funding environment);
Computer literacy;
Must possess the following;
o pleasant personality;
o neat and presentable;
o customer service orientation;
o possess both verbal and communication abilities;
o ability to interact effectively with corporation personnel.
