You will be responsible for assisting with the design and maintenance of operational and reporting databases. Their systems are expanding rapidly and you will need to ensure that the mission-critical databases can scale while maintaining performance levels and high availability.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
• IT related qualification essential
• 2-4 years solid practical experience in SQL Database Administration
• Strong understanding of relational database design and modelling
• Strong experience in administering databases
• Extensive Microsoft SQL Server experience mandatory
• Experience with other database engines is desirable, specifically MySQL
• Understanding of analytical databases and business intelligence
• Experience with cloud database deployment
• Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems

Key Performance areas:
• Assist with database design
• Analyse, maintain and optimise existing databases
• Analyse and optimize existing complex database queries
• Analyze, solve and correct database related issues
• Assist and train the development team in writing and understanding complex database queries and constructing effective schemas
• Manage SQL Server Databases through product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability and security Identify performance bottlenecks within the database and propose solutions
• Ensure scalability of databases and high availability
• Ensure security and availability of the database
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities
