Main Objective :

Responsible primarily for report and relational database development.

Key Areas Of Responsibility :

• SQL server 2005/8/2014 and relational database development
• Stored procedures, Functions, triggers
• Data Replications and scheduling
• Database Maintenance and Optimizations
• DTS packages, SSIS and SQL queries
• Writing more complex queries for specialized requirements on current and new projects
• Develop operational reporting systems
• Develop systems to support operations
• Ensure that data sources cater for demands of ad hoc extracts
• Operations and maintenance of standard, routine queries
• Operate, maintain, enhance and optimize systems
• Ensure correct preparation of data for all operations
• Additional tasks related to data extracts, automated operations and SQL queries as required
• Assist with queries to support both business projects, operational and informational needs
• Daily/Weekly/Monthly Backups and Disaster and recovery programs
• Configuring Clusters, Configuring the Fail over Cluster
• Security logins and Adding users
• Installing, Configuring, Administration, Patching and Upgrading SQL Server Software and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances
• Capacity Planning (DBA to watch data growth, and plan how best to deal with it)
• Troubleshoot various problems that arise in a day-to-day work and fix the issues
• Apply Service Packs
• Setup Test, Dev, Staging and Production Environments

Qualifications and experience

• DBA experience with SQL query Development
• Must have SQL server 2005/8 and relational database development, Stored procedures, Functions, triggers, DTS packages, SSIS and
SQL query experience
• BSc Comp Science, industry qualifications or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
• In depth knowledge of business data
