Degree in IT or related qualification



Skills & Experience:

1-3 years MS SQL DBA experience

Experience as a Software Developer (advantageous)

Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 R2, MS SQL Server 2012



Job Description:

Assist with the creation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and deployment of databases in both development and live service environments.

Assist with facilitating the best possible system performance from the perspective of the applications and reports using the databases.

Perform regular database maintenance activities by following internal processes (data loads, data fixes, schema updates, database copies, software installs / upgrades / patches) in a secure, accurate and timeous manner.

Provide support and advice to development team for new and existing SQL code.

Conduct daily routine tasks including Health Checks and assist with the automation of regular database support activities.

Assist with providing an effective database security management support.

Ensure that backups are done and restored when requested in a timeous manner.

Assist with setting up new database environments, configuring in adherence with applications.
