Your key job responsibilities as the SQL Developer in Johannesburg will include:

Research, develop, and apply methods for measuring, analyzing and optimizing our processes & marketing interventions
Identify appropriate models / algorithms to mine large datasets and develop rich insights into customer behavior
Develop new algorithms and methods for solve critical business problems and optimizing business performance and revenue
Identify key trends in large datasets and interact with marketing teams to understand the impact of these trends and identify possible courses of action to mitigate / take advantage of the trends identified
Develop, interpret and distribute key KPI’s & insights to management and business stake-holders
Perform analyses to understand customer behavior, risks, opportunities and trends
Improve processes and data recording where opportunities arise

Requirements for this SQL Developer job in Johannesburg:

• Degree in Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics or similar. Other analytical qualifications will also be considered such as Computer Science or Engineering
• Understanding of statistics & mathematical modeling and the application of statistical sampling and analysis
• Practical ability to visualize data, communicate the data, and utilize it effectively in a marketing context
• High level of computer literacy (advanced MS-Excel and SQL)
• Practical experience with data mining
• Practical experience building algorithms The ability to distil problem definitions, models and constraints from informal business requirements; and to deal with ambiguity, competing objectives and incomplete variables
• Ability to simplify complex algorithms to ensure understanding of users
• Extensive knowledge of T-SQL language
• Extensive experience with SSIS is essential
• Create complex queries on large data sets for manipulation
• Knowledge of CLR(C#) SQL functions advantages
• Must have demonstrated skills in the Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2/2012 suite including: SQL Server Relational Database Management System; Proven T-SQL development skills; SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); and Service Broker
