MINIMUM EMPLOYEE PROFILE (QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES)

• A tertiary qualification in the Mining Engineering or Geo-sciences
• A Chamber of Mines Rock Engineering Certificate (must accompany CV)
• Minimum of 2 years relevant deep-level mining experience ;
• A valid Certificate of Fitness or the ability to obtain one;
• Adequately matured as a person with interpersonal skills to influence people and the business

JOB PROFILE (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

• Ability and experience to lead and manage staff reporting to the position;
• Gives/ coordinate on the job training in basic applied rock engineering and strata control techniques;
• Mine and Support Design through theoretical, computer and other techniques combined with geological, mining, engineering and other knowledge constraints;
• Monitor, manage, and maintenance of instrumentation systems for operational effectiveness;
• Research and development, perform test on new equipment, methods, materials and techniques in applied rock engineering by using specialized equipment.
• Be pro-active in all aspects of operation safety, efficient utilization of resources, continuous improvement initiatives; and encourage teamwork across the department.
