Stakeholder Engagement and Events Management Executive

Relevant tertiary qualifications in the form of a degree is mandatory. A Public Relations / Communication degree is preferred.
Direct & Relevant Experience: 5/6 Years (8/10 Years)
Experience in a senior management role with the added experience of networking, building internal and external relationships, corporate communications and event management.
To design, develop & execute a stake holder engagement and Events strategy for the Group in support of the Corporate Affairs and Communication strategy. To partner with key stakeholders and strategically build a corporate brand identity internally and externally, positioning Company as an EOC. Public, government and media relations, with exceptional communication and Public relations skills being critical to the role.
To drive relationship management across the group's stakeholder audience.
To establish, develop and maintain strategic relationships with all key stakeholders.
To develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies including networking, informing, consulting and involving stakeholders where relevant and evaluating the effectiveness of these strategies.
Timeous and effective management of issues/risks to stakeholder relationships.
Assist leadership in reviving organisational, business and cultural change and transformation across the stakeholder audience.
Responsible for the strategic development, robust planning and co-ordination of all Edcon events by managing all aspects of event delivery (relationship management, event management planning and preparation, communications, budget management, resource management, post-event reviews).
Responsible for efficient and effective delivery of events that drive business results against established strategic objectives, timelines and financial goals - in support of the groups Corporate Affairs and Communications strategy
Responsible for complete event planning and delivery specifically for the strategic development, robust planning and co-ordination of all events by managing all aspects of event delivery (relationship management, event management planning and preparation, communications, budget management, resource management, post-event reviews).
Key Responsibilities: -
Business Relationship Management & Networking
Actively network with internal and external stakeholders to develop and enhance strategic business partnerships with understanding the internal and external environment and how change impacts the business; align future plans communication / branding to emerging trends.
Effectively manage media relations activities for the Group.
Leverage platforms to maximise exposure for the Group.
Manage all stakeholder relations to ensure effective communication, branding and events management.
Service Delivery Improvement/Innovation
Identify and execute positing opportunities for the Group.
Manage the implementation of Group Communication, Branding and events management strategic plan and focus on key priorities
Ensure the desired change is achieved by the monitoring and directing appropriate action when necessary
Initiate and manage appropriate issue and crises communication activities to ensure proactive management of the Group's reputation.
Implement an events management programme
Strategic Solution Generation
Keep abreast of local and global best practice and trends to determine a best communication and branding solution to achieve business results.
Develop group communication, branding and event management strategic plans.
Manage and communicate the execution of the strategic plans and campaigns based on business goals and objectives.
Provide strategic advice on appropriate messaging and positioning statements in order to align all messages with the Group strategy.
People Management
Encourage, implement and reinforce the Group’s Values, Leadership principles and Employer of Choice (EOC) strategies and initiatives
Ensure an open, motivated and harmonious work environment in line with Leadership philosophy
Manage the performance of self and all direct reports (formally and informally), ensuring that regular feedback is given/received, coaching and mentoring on performance is given/received to enable continuous improvement
Be actively involved in own Individual Development Plan (IDP), develop such plans for all direct reports and ensure that the agreed development interventions are delivered
Ensure that talent reviews are conducted on all staff to identify the appropriate talent management strategy and drive implementation
Budget & Financial Management
To set, implement and manage functional budgets (this includes external expenditure agreements) within agreed budget requirements.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and effectively manage out of line situations.
Monitor all expenditure, ensure that this is in line with business needs.
Assess current structures and agreements through monitoring financial trends analysis and recommend alternatives based on business needs.
Planning and organising
Participates in the planning and establishment of goals and objectives for meetings, conferences, and/or events, with respect to budgets, speakers, facilities, technology, equipment, logistical requirements, and other related issues
Plans and coordinates complex administrative assignments and special projects within and/or across operating units; gathers, organizes, and assesses information, and develops and prepares recommendations.
