An exciting opportunity exists for a Stakeholder Relations Officer, the successful candidate is required to identify key community and business stakeholders and develop plans for stakeholder engagement.

Job Specifications:

Research and identify opportunities to educate, inform and build relationships with key audiences e.g. Publishers, Composers and Government
Create and maintain a highly comprehensive, robust and reliable stakeholder database
Assist the Executive to prepare a range of presentations to client and stakeholders locally and internationally
Develop effective relationships and collaborative working styles with key stakeholders (Publishers, Composers, Government and Media) to strategically promote the business of the company and support the company’s public diplomacy outcomes
Manage the delivery of key messages and information through a range of channels and ensure public and media activities and products align with the company branding and protocols
Lead company-wide knowledge sharing so that information and experience is shared inside (as appropriate) and outside the company with other stakeholders where relevant
Contribute to the development and implementation of the company communication strategies, public relations initiatives and other materials which promote the vision of the company
Contribute to the development and implementation of stakeholder relations and communication plans
Contribute to Monitoring and Evaluation outcomes by generating and following up on success story leads
Travel throughout the country, often at short notice to support carry out awareness work and/or support key public diplomacy events.
You will be expected to demonstrate sensitivity to issues of social inclusion, and especially as you engage with composers, publishers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

Minimum Bachelors (Honours) in international relations, public relations, communications, journalism or related field
At least 2 years relevant work experience in communications or research at the national or international level including experience with the creative industry, governmental/diplomatic relations
Fluency in English.
Highly Desirable - Familiarity with the music industry
Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

Demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong relations with clients and stakeholders
Demonstrated understanding of and experience in communications and promotions, marketing and advocacy
Communicates sensitively, effectively and creatively across different constituencies
Knowledge and understanding of target audience profiles and how best to adapt program content to capture audience interest without compromising consistency of key messages and brand image
Outstanding oral and written communications and editing skills, with proven ability to meet tight deadlines
Good working knowledge of creative industry issues in South Africa
Strong negotiation and networking (i.e. interpersonal) skills
Ability to work with and operate various online, digital and web publishing platforms
Ability to manage workload to deliver multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
