Generally oversee the management of stock within the business, from stock received from
suppliers to stock sent to customers. This includes accountability of all stock coming into the
Digital Planet warehouse and also having a unique knowledge of different products being
distributed for various clients. Ensure that physical stock and the system is in line. Flexible
mindset, resolve issues without bypassing good working practices. Stock control prepare the
SOP’s to ensure less risk of stock loses.

Core Responsibilities

? Maintain accurate record of inventory and stock management systems according to set
standards
? Ensure regulation of in-stock level are in line with inventory
? Develop inventory control models that promote lower cost of sales, shorter lead times,
and reduced stock levels
? Oversee the standard processes to ensure appropriate presentation of stock
? Collaborate with warehouse manager to ensure consistent balance of stock
? Improving the continuity of supply chain
? Monitor and created SOP’s
? Assist with supervising the maintenance of a warehouse and ensure proper arrangement
of stock.
? Conduct assessment of supply chain to identify risks and develop solutions useful in
minimizing losses

Knowledge
? Education and Training: To become a stock controller, you require at least a high school
diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of spreadsheet programs and computer applications
such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is also necessary for the job position. Stock
controllers are usually trained by more experienced personnel to learn job operations
among which include stock counting and inventory marking

Daily Responsibilities
? Create new Inventory items on the Pastel accounting system
? Assist with all reverse logistic across clients (mainly credit and refunds)
? Advise on product Information
? Attend to queries - Stock; vouchers and repairs
? Support entire business with stock related queries.
? Process stock into system (returns from customers)
? : Credit notes received from suppliers
? : Stock sent back to suppliers
? Provide pricing on redundant stock
? Micro manage the return/physical movement of sealed and open stock from warehouse
to warehouse.
Weekly
? Monitor the weekly invoicing reports
? Monitor the weekly GRV’s (Reverse duplicates)
? Weekly meetings with Group Stock Manager.
Monthly
? Preparing for stocktake (Variance checks and Pre-counts)
? Monthly Inventory & Stock Taking (manger the actual stock take on the last working day
of the month.
? Upload figures of stock take into Pastel Evolution
? Investigate, resolve stock variances and report back to management
Additional
? Assisting operations with all warehouse related project
? Create and assist with SOP’s for warehouse and monitor the processes
? Provide training on new processes (Assist with system development)
? In charge maintaining of all stock at the warehouse
? Responsible for high value items and Gift Vouchers
? Assist auditors with stock requirements (financial year end)
