An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Storage Specialist to manage the environment, as the company data storage grows and new hardware is purchased. This opportunity exists with our client being the largest private healthcare funder in South Africa. This role is situated in Johannesburg and is best suited to a Storage Specialist with experience in EMC Array’s (VMax and VNX) and Storage Area Networks Symantec Storage Foundation experience.

Your role as a Storage Specialist will include monitoring, reporting and troubleshooting of the Storage Environment. Assisting in delivering storage related projects. Liaising with all departments in TI and technology teams across all companies. Ensuring that the Storage environment achieves a 99.99% uptime SLA out site scheduled change windows. Ensure that all storage related CA calls are address within a 94% SLA. May be required to assist in other projects in the department

- Minimum 3 years EMC Array’s (VMax and VNX) and Storage Area Networks Symantec Storage Foundation experience running on a Solaris Unix platform
- Understanding of how the following technologies work: Symantec Storage Foundation experience running on a Solaris Unix platform.
- Day to day EMC Storage Array administration which include creating capacity, assigning capacity host, zoning, formatting the volume with a file system, mount point, scripts and documentation.
- EMC Storage certification will beneficial
- Oracle Solaris and Symantec Storage Foundation working experience will be beneficial
