Functional Summary

The purpose of the Store Manager is to manage the day-to-day running of the store, as well as to be involved in all activities that drive sales and maximise profits through leading the team, customer service, merchandise management, maintaining visual standards, budget management, managing shrinkage, monitoring stock flow, employee relations, training and development.

Main Functions

Day-to-day running of the store
Creating the ultimate customer shopping experience
Managing risk through efficient admin and store procedures
Maximize profit while minimizing costs
Managing the store team and permanent and flexi sales assistants
Ensuring excellent customer service standards are met
Managing stock levels and making key decisions on stock control and merchandising
Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales
Dealing with customer complaints and comments
Maintaining awareness of market trends in the industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing.

Educational Qualifications / Experience Required

Minimum Matric certificate
A tertiary qualification in business / retail would be an advantage
At least 5 years’ management experience in a retail store is essential (ideally in a Store Manager / Assistant Manager role)
Proven sales track record in a mobile or technology industry
Fully proficient in MS Office
Ability to work Retail hours (shifts and weekends) if required
