iWe are seeking a storeman for our client based in Midrand! Scope and General Purpose:To ensure that optimum stock levels are maintainedAll goods, perishable and non-perishable are stored under ideal conditionsThat maximum security applies at all times, particularly when receiving and issuing of goods.Responsible to:General ManagerFinancial ControllerResaponsible For:Stores clerkMain Duties:To order goods/supplies to ensure that maximum/minimum stock levels are maintainedTo liaise with HOD’s on the ordering of goods which fall outside the agreed upon parametersTo order all items through approved suppliers only, obtaining permission for ordering any items requiredTo ensure that goods received are of the quality and quantity ordered and in accordance with the agreed priceTo ensure the timeous and correct completion of all administration in respect of deliveriesTo complete all documentation and take the necessary action in cases of non-delivery, substandard delivery or over pricingTo ensure that all items are stored correctly, in terms of temperature, humidity and shelf life and that no food items are stored on the floorTo ensure correct stock rotation and that issues are effected on a first in, first out basisTo ensure that all issues are made against requisitions and that no items leave the storeroom without the appropriate documentation or signatureTo ensure maximum security of all storeroom areas, that no unauthorised person enters the stores or is issued with a key allowing accessTo inform management and follow agreed procedures in the case of spoilage or damage of any itemTo take stock at prescribed intervals and ensure all the necessary administration is completed without delayTo attend meetings or training courses as requiredTo ensure that authorised orders have been issued for all purchases and goods receivedTo ensure that stock records systems are accurate and up to dateTo ensure that all computer input is effected dailyTo provide closing stock figures and physically assist with stocktaking at stipulated intervalsTo ensure a smooth working relationship with other departments, avoiding antagonismTo ensure that prices entered in the computerised POS system are correct and up to dateTo submit reports and identify possible reasons when results differ from anticipated targetsEducational requirements:MatricThree to five years related experience, preferably within the hospitality industry (advantageous, but not a pre-requisite)Good communication skillsGood command of the English languageComputer knowledge – Ms Office, Internet, POS Should you not receive a response within 2 weeks, please assume your application unsuccessful.
